Privacy

The short version

Until you switch the channel on, no data leaves this page. No cookies are set, no fonts, scripts or images are loaded from anyone else's servers, and no analytics or tracking services are used. Only when you press “Turn on channel” is YouTube's player loaded — and only then does Google learn of your visit.

Nothing about your visit is stored. The web server keeps no access log, we build no database, and we do not know who has been here.

Controller

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is the person named in theimprint.

The embedded YouTube player

The talks are hosted on YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The player is loadedonly after your explicit consent, and runs in what Google calls privacy-enhanced mode, through the domainyoutube-nocookie.com.

Once the player has loaded, your browser connects to Google's servers. According to Google, this transmits your IP address and the address of the page you are on, among other things, and Google may also store or read information on your device. Transfer to the United States cannot be ruled out. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Privacy-enhanced mode prevents the view from being used for personalisation, according to Google. It does not make embedding privacy-neutral, though: the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information has pointed out that even this mode cannot be considered unproblematic. That is why we ask first.

What is stored on your device

The site sets no cookies. It stores two things in your browser's local storage (localStorage):

Both stay on your device, are never transmitted to us, and are never analysed. You can delete them at any time through your browser's settings; the “Withdraw consent” link removes the consent entry too.

Fonts

The fonts used here are served from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or to any other third-party server.

No analytics, no tracking

There is no audience measurement, no analytics service, no social network embedding and no profiling. We do not know who visits the site and keep no statistics about it.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21 GDPR), as well as the right to withdraw consent once given at any time. To exercise them, write to the address given in the imprint.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the federal state where you habitually reside.
